Thank You to Our Mentors
This fall semester we have had the joy of having a few American Family Insurance staff serve as mentors. They’ve helped students code their website, program robots, and learn about a woman in tech. Here are some of the students’ thoughts on their mentors:
Lora is really nice. She’s been helpful in helping me to do research on my woman in tech project.
Pam is nice and helpful. She helped me figure out how to make background headings become images.
Lauren is one of coolest people you’ll meet. I think she’s really cool and helps a lot of people, she’s a lot like me. She helped me work on my website to make it nice and awesome.
Vicki is really helpful, I wouldn’t know so much about Tessa Lau [Silicon Valley Woman of Influence], if she wasn’t helping me. I had a fun moment with her when we wrote about each other.
My favorite thing about Katyanna is that she is nice, caring, and helpful. I wouldn’t know who Mary Lou Jepsen [Founder of Openwater] was before she helped me find her. I want to be like her when I grow up because she makes websites
Tatanisha is enthusiastic, she always has a smile on her face. It’s been fun learning about Dona Bailey [Creator of Centipede] and getting help with my website.
Ellen is really nice and smart. I’ve had fun having her help me with my website.
Special Thanks to Todd for working to bring mentors and students together and our sponsor, American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation, for making this opportunity possible for our students.
